Each watercolor jewelry design is handcrafted and hand-painted with transparent watercolor on the finest acid-free paper (which is actually cotton fiber). Then, through a multi-step process, the item is finished with a high-gloss polymer for waterproofing and durability. Each piece comes with an information "romance" card, and guaranteed against crafting defects for the life of the product (with ordinary wear, excluding abuse or accidental breakage). Since all pieces are handcrafted, there may be a slight variation between the photo and the product. All orders are subject to availability of items.
Composition of the jewelry findings:
Earrings: Button style posts and clutches are surgical steel. Clip earring backs are silver tone base metal.
Dangle earrings are either sterling silver ear wires or 12K gold-fill. If you prefer gold-fill when sterling is offered with the product, please state that in the "comments" section on your order. And, of course, the same goes for changing out gold for sterling.
Barrettes: Barrette clasps are 3 inches long in silver tone base metal, and most have one- piece genuine French clasps.
Beads: Beads are made out of glass, stone, or wood.
Pin backs: Silver tone base metal; one inch in length.
Pillboxes: Base metal with a gold tone finish.
Metal settings: Base metal with a gold tone or silver tone finish.
Caring for your Wearable Watercolor Art™:
When storing the jewelry, keep it out of direct sunlight to keep the colors vibrant. (Even watercolor paintings fade with ultraviolet light after long, continued exposure to light).
To clean, wash the jewelry with a mild soap and warm water, and then dry. If there is a setting, e.g. in a necklace or bracelet, do not immerse it--just wash with a damp cloth, and dry. I recommend storing the earrings in the poly self-sealing bag that comes with the jewelry. A quick touch-up with a silver polishing cloth on the wires should be all that is necessary to keep them looking good.
If your ear wires on the watercolor jewelry tarnish, you can QUICKLY dip the hook into a cleaning product like a brand called Connoisseurs Silver Jewelry Cleaner. Then immediately dip the earring into water, then dry. The polymer coating on the jewelry is very durable, and takes a lot of wear! On the beaded jewelry, it is best not to use harsh cleaners, so as not to compromise the coated jewelry wire or beads. Of course, if there are pearls on the jewelry, it is important to keep them away from oils, detergents or solvents. And finally, always put your jewelry on last, after your make-up and hair spray!
Caring for your beaded jewelry:
As with any handcrafted jewelry, it is recommended that you not wear it while sleeping, bathing, swimming, during exercise, or outdoor physical activity. This is so that you won't stress the nylon coated wire (on the necklaces or bracelets) or its hand-crimped connections. Each piece is double crimped to increase its connection durability.
If you keep your jewelry in the poly self-sealing bags with the swatch of silver cloth that are included with the purchase, your tarnish on the silver will be minimal. As noted above, a quick touch-up with a polishing cloth should keep your jewelry looking great.
Shipping and Handling Information: Jewelry items up to $50 = $2.00. Items $50.01 to $100 = $3.50. All packages go USPS, First Class. If you would like insurance, please add that to the "comments" section of the order form. The insurance will be added to your shipping & handling. We cannot be responsible for loss or damage of items in shipping if you do not purchase insurance.
We process all of our orders manually online, so we will add these charges before we charge your credit card, and we don't charge your card until the night before shipment or the day of shipment.

These pieces are so lightweight--what are they made of?
They are painted on watercolor paper, which is actually cotton fiber, and very strong. Then they are coated with a polymer that makes them essentially plastic. The pieces are VERY durable, and keep their glossy appearance.
Do you have a return policy?
We have a 30- day exchange or refund (minus shipping charges) policy, if the item is returned to us in its original condition.
What about privacy?
All transactions take place on a secure server, and if you feel more comfortable calling toll-free (1-877-362-9628), someone will take your order from 8 am to 8 pm, Central time. We disclose no customer information to third parties, and your e-mail address will be used to confirm your order.
Do you have a storefront?
Wearable Watercolor Art™ is created in Jeri's home studio. We participate in retail craft shows averaging about 3-4 each year. And we wholesale and consign to businesses both locally and nationally.
I'd like something special made for me; can you do it?
If you have a clear photo of a design you have in mind, or have a fabric swatch or a garment that you'd like the jewelry to match, either send the fabric, photo, or e-mail the photo to us with your request, and we'll get back to you. We do not charge extra for special orders. See our Contact Us page for the address.
What if one of my beaded items comes apart or breaks? Can I send it back for you to fix it?
You may send the item back to us, along with all of the pieces, for complimentary repair, whether it broke because of a crafting defect (let us know if it was), or your breakage. If it happens to the same piece again, we will repair it for a nominal charge. You pay the shipping and handling for all correspondence.
